Welcome to the professional web Site for Katie Huston.  This site is devoted to displaying job skills in a convenient and user-friendly setting for prospective employers to browse.  


I am currently preparing to graduate from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Ga.  Upon completion, I will have obtained a BA in mass communication concentrating in print and a minor in anthropology.  


My time in school has prepared me for a job in journalism, in large part due to my time spent at GCSU's student newspaper, The Colonnade.  I began as a staff writer and eventually became a senior reporter.  Also during my time with The Colonnade, I served as the webmaster which helped to broaden my scope of the ever-evolving world of journalism.  Click here to view a selection of my writing samples.


My last semester in college, I was involved with founding a new media outlet originating in Milledgeville called, The Alternate.  This endeavor was not school-related and the challenges presented with starting a publication will remain valuable learning devices that I will take with me in future jobs.  To learn more about The Alternate, click here.
